4-HO-MiPT is a synthetic psychedelic substance from the tryptamine family. Its effects are comparable to those of psilocin—the active compound found in magic mushrooms and truffles. Due to this similarity, 4-HO-MiPT is often described as producing effects reminiscent of a mushroom trip, though typically with a slightly different nuance. Currently, very little is known about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, or toxicity of 4-HO-MiPT. Because of this lack of data, combining it with other substances is strongly discouraged. Mixing compounds can result in unpredictable interactions, and under the influence, users may unintentionally push past their personal boundaries. Despite the limited research, anecdotal reports suggest that 4-HO-MiPT is generally well tolerated by the human body.

User experience: A firsthand account

"At around 2:45 PM, I took a 20 mg dose of 4-HO-MiPT and went for a walk in the forest with my tripsitter. The effects started to kick in about 30 minutes later. Everything around me seemed to breathe, with many eyes appearing and a cartoon-like atmosphere emerging.

About 10 minutes after that, my visual field began to shift—as if my eyes had turned into a 360-degree camera. I started seeing intense visuals, beginning with fractal-like patterns overlaying everything I looked at. At one point, the sand beneath me seemed to turn into countless snakes. Later in the trip, I started seeing faces in objects.

Thanks to the clear and calm headspace, none of this felt scary. The visuals were accompanied by a soothing high. The peak lasted around two hours, after which the trip gradually faded."
