3-MeO-PCE vs 3-MeO-PCP, what do you need to know?

3-meo-pce vs 3-meo-pcp

Extensive research is under way on arylcyclohexylamines, a group of synthetic substances that produce hallucinogenic and dissociative effects. The arylcyclohexylamines are similar to Ketamine in terms of effects, but all have a unique profile. 3-MeO-PCE and 3-MeO-PCP are two substances within this class of research chemicals. Although the names of the two substances show little difference, there are definitely differences to note between 3-MeO-PCE vs 3-MeO-PCP. In this article, we will look at what differences there are, while also delving deeper into the experience with both substances.

What is 3-MeO-PCE?

3-MeO-PCE is a research chemical counted in the arylcyclohexylamine class of research chemicals. The full name of 3-MeO-PCE is 3-Methoxyeticyclidine and this substance is best known for its powerful psychedelic and dissociative effects, such as an altered sense of time. 3-MeO-PCE is sold in powder form and has a long total duration of action of up to eight hours. Here, the first effects occur as early as twenty to ninety minutes after an initial dose and the peak effect occurs around two to four hours after the first intake.

Effects of 3-MeO-PCE

There are already a number of online studies and experience reports available regarding 3-Methoxyeticyclidine, which showed that the average experience with 3-MeO-PCE was very positive thanks to effects such as:

  • Feeling of mental and physical detachment from the body
  • Feelings of bliss
  • Feeling good
  • Change in how you perceive things visually and aurally
  • Time actually slows down or speeds up

The effects observed did depend on individual tolerance to a substance and the dosage, with an average dosage being around 10-15 milligrams of active substance. A light dose was more likely to be in the 5-10 milligrams of active substance and a heavy dose at 15-25 milligrams.

What is 3-MeO-PCP?

3-MeO-PCP is a dissociative hallucinogen from the arylcyclohexylamine class of research chemicals. 3-Methoxyphencyclidine is the full name of the RC and it is known as a very potent NMDA receptor antagonist, creating very intense dissociative effects, stronger than, say 3F-PCP. The duration of action of this RC is also extremely high: around 11 hours. 3-Methoxyphencyclidine can be examined orally and nasally, but can also be injected or smoked. The method of ingestion also determines the duration of action. For instance, when taken orally, the first effects will occur after 30-90 minutes and last for up to 12 hours.

3-MeO-PCP:  the effects

The effects studied are generally experienced as positive with effects such as:

  • Strong euphoric feelings
  • Mental clarity
  • Separation of body and mind
  • Hallucinations
  • Strong intoxication
  • Carelessness

The effects that occur depend partly on the dosage. A light dose is often enough to trigger the hallucinatory effects. A light dose is between 3-5 milligrams and at 5 milligrams the psychedelic effects occur. However, a standard dose is 5-10 milligrams and a heavy dose is around 10-20 milligrams of active substance. At heavier doses, unpleasant side effects such as violent behaviour and amnesia were also reported.

3-MeO-PCE vs 3-MeO-PCP: the differences

Looking at 3-MeO-PCP vs 3-MeO-PCE, what are the differences? Perhaps the main difference is that 3-MeO-PCE is allowed to be sold as a research chemical and 3-MeO-PCP is no longer. The latter has been on the Opium list in the Netherlands for years, as there has been a demonstrated death with cause of death of 3-MeO-PCP in the Netherlands. If you want to research 3-MeO-PCP, you can also choose its substitute 3-Me-PCP. Another major difference between 3-MeO-PCP and 3-MeO-PCE is that 3-Methoxyphencyclidine is much stronger than 3-Methoxyeticyclidine. Moreover, 3-MeO-PCP works longer.
