1P-LSD is a research chemical manufactured in laboratories to mimic the effects of the banned drug LSD. Consequently, it also resembles the illegal drug in terms of chemical structure. 1P LSD has not been much researched yet, but it is mostly known for its hallucinogenic properties. This blog will therefore take a first step in exploring 1P LSD. What exactly is it and what is the average 1P-LSD experience of subjects?
What is 1P-LSD?
1P-LSD is a research chemical, which is chemically related to the illicit drug LSD and belongs to the class Lysergamides. First released on the market in 2015, this RC was christened 1-propionyl-lysergic acid diethylamide, abbreviated 1P LSD. Little research has yet been done on this New Psychoactive Substance, but researchers believe that the RC binds in the brain to serotonin receptors. This activates the receptors to produce serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps create contentment and suppress anxiety, sadness and aggression.
Average 1P-LSD experience
The average 1P-LSD experience is positive. People more often compare the RC to LSD in terms of effects. 1P LSD produces a number of distinctive effects, such as:
- Exhilarating feeling
- Energetic feeling
- Euphoric feelings
- Connection
- Sensory perception is heightened
- Sensory perception is mixed up
- Detailed analysis
- Change of time awareness
- Slurred laughter
- Visual hallucinations
At lower doses, hallucinations involve the perception of more details and more intense colours. Even with eyes closed, subjects experience images of geometric shapes. The higher the doses, the more intense these images become.
Dosage and duration of action of the RC
The effects of 1P-LSD last for an average of eight to 12 hours. You notice the first effects after twenty minutes to two hours after first taking it. 1P LSD can be bought in blotters and pellets. A standard dose is between 20 milligrams and 150 milligrams of active substance. The online studies available suggest that the RC is less potent than LSD.
Negative 1P LSD experience
Experience reports also reveal negative experiences with the RC, similar to the negative effects of LSD. The biggest risk is the ‘bad trip’. Here, a subject experiences intense effects accompanied by anxiety and confusion. Other negative effects include:
- Nausea
- Muscle cramps
- Negative thinking
- Psychosis
- Combination with alcohol or other RCs is very dangerous
Microdosing with 1P LSD
There are people who use small amounts of 1P LSD each time, which is also known as microdosing. It is thought that this way you reduce the chances of a bad trip, because you do not experience a full trip. Too little research has yet been done on the RC to say whether microdosing of the substance really helps or whether it is the so-called placebo effect. However, people with psychological complaints do continue to observe an aggravation in their symptoms after microdosing.
