Dosage of McKennaii mushrooms

Most people eat McKennaii mushrooms. By growing them yourself first, you are assured of the freshness of your mushrooms. It is possible to consume the mushrooms before or after dinner. Keep in mind that if you take them on a full stomach, it will take longer for the first effects to appear. Normally you will feel the effects after half an hour to an hour. If you incorporate the mushrooms into a tea, the effects may occur even sooner. A trip with the McKennaii magic mushroom can last as long as eight hours. For a light trip, 5 grams of mushrooms from your grow kit is enough. If you want a medium experience, you should take 15 grams of fresh mushrooms and for a heavy trip, 25 grams.

Our McKennaii grow kit is a complete grow kit, to which you only need to add water yourself. Our kits have a size of 1200 cc or 2100 cc, which equals about 400 and 700 grams of mushrooms respectively. You can grow multiple flushes with one grow kit. The grow kit contains the following elements:

• Manual
• 2 paperclips
• Grow bag with air filters
• The grow kit itself, consisting of a container filled with mycelium, vermiculite and perlite.

Growing yourself with your mushroom grow kit from McKennaii

Your mushroom grow kit includes a comprehensive manual, but below is a brief overview of the steps you need to perform to grow your mushrooms yourself:

1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
2. Scrub the outside of the container.
3. Pierce holes in the top layer of the grow kit with a clean fork.
4. Fill the container with lukewarm water to the brim.
5. Put the lid on the container and soak for eight to 12 hours.
6. After soaking, pour off excess water and let the container drain for a while.
7. Put lukewarm water in the grow bag (500 ml for 1200 cc and 875 ml for 2100 cc).
8. Now put the container in the grow bag. The water should not get into the grow kit.
9. Close bag and close it with paper clips.
10. Place in direct sunlight. 
11. Observe if condensation forms on inside of grow bag. If not, misting is necessary.
12. When you begin to see buds, then the bag can be opened for fresh air. 
13. When the membrane under the cap loosens or threatens to burst open, then harvest can be done. 

The yield of a grow kit

The first batch of mushrooms can often be harvested very quickly. After a week you will already see buds, after which it will take another week or so before your mushrooms are fully developed. You should start harvesting when the membranes under the caps are still closed, but threaten to burst open or let go. What exactly guarantees a maximum yield from your grow kit cannot be said with certainty, because many factors come into play. As a rule you can say that medium kits of 1200 cc distribute about 400 grams of mushrooms over two or three flights. Large grow kits of 2100 generally yield 700 grams of mushrooms spread over two or three harvests.
